Crushing on: VOL 8

February 19, 2020

Hey, Y’all! I’m back with five more of my favorite things for the month. This month’s list of items includes my birthday gift from Brandon, my favorite podcast ever, and the items I use daily to be more sustainable and reduce my waste.

1). Let’s start with my birthday gift from Brandon. He got me the Tory Burch Miller Sandles in the color make-up. And I am over the moon about them. I had another pair a few summers ago in the tan color but I wore them so often in the spring and summer months that I was in desperate need of a new pair. I’ve already started trying to break them so when we get warmer weather here in NC I can just slip them on and go. Now, this color, the light make-up, is such a perfect neutral that I can’t think of an outfit that they won’t go with! Such a good summer staple if you’re willing to splurge on them if not these are a great dupe.

2). This last Monday Brandon and I went and switch our phone plan and got new iPhones. We decided to move from Verizon to AT&T because AT&T has a discount for Ford employees. Thinking about it now, I can’t remember if I mentioned at any point in time on my blog that Brandon works for Ford, I may have but it’s been some time since I’ve mentioned work-related things in general.

Anyhow, AT&T gives you a discount if you are a Ford employee for those who didn’t know. and By switching we were able to upgrade our phones and save money on our month to month bill. I decided to get the iPhone 11 ProMax ( I think that’s what it’s called) it’s the one with the three cameras on the back and I love it. The picture quality is phenomenal. The only issue I’m having is getting used to the fact that I no longer have a home button!

3). To live and die in LA. The podcast that I put on anytime I have had a free second for the last week. You know I love a good murdery podcast… And this one was my favorite one yet. The story got better and better as it went on! The host, Neil Strauss, did a great job of telling the story in a very linear way without making it too much about himself. I don’t want to give anything away but the general gist is that a young aspiring actress in LA goes missing and Neil works with the PI hired by the girl’s family to figure out what happened. I literally drive as slowly as possible or take extra time in the shower while listening to this so that I wouldn’t have to get to my destination and turn it off!

4). My favorite candle right now and I can’t find it anywhere online which is crazy so it must be a discontinued scent that actually breaks my heart. It’s the Coconut Mint Yankee candle. I got in my Valentine’s day goodie bag from my nana so I can only assume she found it at HomeGoods or TJMaxx.

5). Things I use (almost daily) that are helping me reduce the number of plastic items I use. You never know until you start to slowly make the switch how many items in our everyday lives are plastic and wasteful.

The first thing I try to do is remember to bring my reusable shopping bags. Now I don’t do it every time, I’m not perfect. But I try to remember them when I can, shopping at Aldis helps a lot because they don’t use plastic bags. Another thing is the metal straws. I’m a big straw girl, I always want one, if we go out or at home. So what I’ve started doing is trying to keep one in my bag at all times. the last item I have for y’all is these reusable Ziplock baggies. Such a game-changer. You can use them for everything and they come in so many sizes. Bonus they CAN go in the dishwasher.

That’s all for today’s post I hope Y’all enjoyed!

Lots of love for the Tar Heel State,

Brittany
