Books I’ve been loving: February Edition

February 24, 2018
Hello friends, for those of you who don’t know I am a huge bookworm. I love everything bookish and the past few I’ve wormed my way out and right back into reading. I forgot how much of a stress reliever it is for me. So I’m going to start a new series on the blog having to do with anything and everything book related and I hope y’all love it as much as I do!
The first post in this new series is going to be the books I’v been reading this month old and new! First up is The Bat by Jo Nesbø. I got into his books when the movie the Snowman started circling around I loved the previews and got the nook not long after. I loved everything about it even though the movie in my opinion was a bit of a flop. Now, The Bat is the first in the ‘Series’ that follows this detective. I say series lightly because while it is in fact one the books don’t pick up where the other left off, they are the continuing stories of his life and the cases he goes through.
The Bat takes place in Sydney Australia where detective Harry Hole is sent to observe the murder case, while he can offer assistance he cannot actively partake in the solving of the crime. This book is  lethal and so so amazing. The story line has a slow build so you catch all the details and it’s a roller coster ride of emotions.
The next book I want to share with you is called The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I received this books in one of my monthly bookish subscription boxes this past summer and just finally go around to reading it. Keep in mind this is a less adult and more YA book. While it does contain more adult themes the book is still very much targeted for the younger scale of the adult spectrum.
The Gentleman’s Guide is a wonderful book filled with wit, adventures and a romance you aren’t fully expecting given the time in which the book takes place. I adored this book its fun and scandalous and honestly I could go on and on and on. The main character Monty is going to blow you away, truly.
The third book I don’t have much to say on quite yet I literally picked it up from the bookstore today. Stalking Jack the Ripper is an eyecatcher. Not just for the cover but for the name too. I have and odd fascination with things along the lines of Jack, its one of the reasons I live murder mystery books so much. I love to put the pieces of the puzzle together and see if I’m right before the end of the book!
As of recently these are the only thee books I’ve been reading, I had tried to cut back so I could focus more on school, work, and Matthew. But with him being gone I’m finding myself with all this extra free time. I revamped my current TBR list though in case you want to follow along with me! I’ll leave in and the links for the books below!
The Cruel Prince
The Belles
Cockroaches
Truly Devious
The Women in the Window
The Beauty of Darkness
I hope y’all can relate to my love of books and enjoy this series because I have such high hopes for it! Until the next time!
-With love,
